Well what can we say?
We were so confident going into the cup finals against a team that beat us in six last year.
We aren't giving up, but its apparent after the 3-1 loss tonight a few things must change.
The effort is there, the heart is there, but the breaks aren't.
Add a few breakdowns and we are once again down 2-0 going home for game three.
Yeah I hate you Osgood.
You can blame the officials all you want and yes they were piss poor in game two.
Hossa breaking Dupuis stick before the second goal was a joke.
Kronwall got called for the same thing a period earlier.
The biggest joke happened early in the 3rd.
For the second straight game during a goal mouth scramble, Henrik Zetterberg gloved a loose puck in a goal mouth scramble, and for the second straight game, he got away with it.
67.4 Penalty Shot - If a player, except a goalkeeper, while play is in progress, falls on the puck, holds the puck, picks up the puck, or gathers the puck into his body or hands from the ice in the goal crease area, the play shall be stopped immediately and a penalty shot shall be awarded to the non-offending team. See also Rule 63 – Delaying the Game.
HORRIBLE!
You can't honestly watched the game and tell me their was only two penalties committed.
So now the question.
What can the Pens do to win this series.
1) They must play physical.
I was upset of the lack of physical play by the team in white during games one and two. Brooks Orpik had a nice hit o Hossa in the early part of game one, but has been quit. Guys like Fedotenko, Guerin. Scuderi, Kennedy, and Kunitz need to step up their hitting game.
2) Pens need Jordan Staal to perform.
We knew going into this series, sledding was going to be tough for Sid and Malkin, but Staal could be the key.
His line has been cycling well, but can this kid get a puck on net? He seems to go in streaks where he can't get a shot on goal or get one to go in. Right now sadly he is one of those funks.
3) The Flower is going to have to out shine Osgood.
This could be the back breaker. After two games, there is nothing to show me Fleury can out play Osgood. I still find it hard to believe Osgood is this good, but he steps it up in the playoffs, which is proven in the Pens scoring 2 goals in 12 periods at the Joe against Osgood.
Fleury on the other hand hasn't played terrible, but the 3rd goal in game two was horrible. Add the fact what is in front of Fleury isn't the best and he has alot of pressure on him.
For the integrity of Old Time Hockey, please win Pens.

Red Wins gloves continue to be glued on.
This is for all you idiots who are crying for Malkin to be suspended. Rule 47.22 states that all suspensions are reviewed and can be rescinded.
47.12 Instigator in Final Five Minutes of Regulation Time (or Anytime in Overtime) - A player or goalkeeper who is deemed to be the instigator of an altercation in the final five (5) minutes of regulation time or at any time in overtime shall be assessed an instigator minor penalty, a major penalty for fighting, and a game misconduct penalty (see 47.22).
47.22 Fines and Suspensions – Instigator in Final Five Minutes of Regulation Time (or Anytime in Overtime) - A player or goalkeeper who is deemed to be the instigator of an altercation in the final five (5) minutes of regulation time or at anytime in overtime, shall automatically be suspended for one game. The Director of Hockey Operations will review every such incident and may rescind the suspension based on a number of criteria. The criteria for the review shall include, but not limited to, the score, previous incidents, etc. The length of suspension will double for each subsequent offense. This suspension shall be served in addition to any other automatic suspensions a player may incur for an accumulation of three or more instigator penalties.
