Stock Exchange Club of Los Angeles Single Barrel 10 Year American Whiskey - PourMore Exclusive

Producer/Distiller: Badwater Brands

Type: American Whiskey (Single Barrel)

Origin: Kentucky & California, USA

Story:

Selected exclusively for PourMore, this Stock Exchange Club of Los Angeles Single Barrel American Whiskey is a one-of-a-kind release unavailable anywhere else. Originally distilled in Kentucky in 2015, the whiskey was vatted for 12 months before being re-barreled into a used rye whiskey cask and aged for an additional four years in California. This unique maturation journey brings together the richness of mature American whiskey with the spice and complexity imparted by the ex-rye barrel. Bottled exclusively for PourMore members, the result is a distinctive single barrel whiskey that highlights the influence of time, climate, and thoughtful cask selection.

Tasting Notes:

The nose shows grain, rye spice, oak, and a touch of orange peel. On the palate, caramel and cashew are balanced by peppery spice and light oak. The finish is dry and warming, with baking spices and lingering rye character.

How We Feel About the Stock Exchange Club of Los Angeles Single Barrel 10 Year American Whiskey

PourMore Exclusive — A His, Hers & the Good Life Feature

Joint Introduction

June’s PourMore Enthusiast Whiskey of the Month Club delivery arrived with a little extra intrigue tucked inside the box. We had never heard of Badwater Brands and the Stock Exchange Club of Los Angeles, so this bottle — this single barrel, 10-year American Whiskey — was something different. It wasn’t just rare; it was exclusive. Selected solely for PourMore members and unavailable anywhere else, it felt like receiving a quiet invitation into a private circle.

Originally distilled in Kentucky back in 2015, then vatted and re-barreled into a used rye whiskey cask for four more years of California aging, this bottle carries a journey in its glass. A decade of time, two climates, and a thoughtful cask progression — all culminating in a limited-edition release that now sits proudly in our Sipping Room.

We haven’t opened it yet. And honestly, that’s part of the thrill.

His Take (Jeff)

There’s something about a bottle that announces itself without trying too hard. This one does exactly that. The red seal, the restrained label, the quiet confidence of a single barrel whiskey that doesn’t need flashy packaging to prove its worth — it all speaks my language.

What really gets me, though, is the story behind the maturation. Kentucky to California, rye cask influence, a decade of patience. It’s the kind of whiskey that feels like it was crafted for people who appreciate the long game. I’m already imagining that first pour: the rye spice on the nose, the caramel and cashew on the palate, the warm, dry finish that lingers just long enough to remind you it’s a single barrel with personality.

This bottle feels like a handshake from the distiller — a firm, intentional one.

Her Take (Nancy Fae)

The moment I saw the bottle, I felt that familiar spark — the one that happens when a whiskey isn’t just a whiskey, but a piece of craftsmanship. The label’s simplicity, the red seal, the sense of exclusivity… it all fits beautifully into the aesthetic of our Sipping Room. It’s elegant without being precious, refined without being fussy.

What draws me in most is the duality of its journey: Kentucky roots with a California finish. There’s something poetic about that — two places shaping one spirit, each leaving its imprint. The tasting notes read like a sensory progression I can already imagine: orange peel brightness, caramel warmth, peppery spice, and a finish that leans into baking spices. It sounds like a whiskey with depth, intention, and a little bit of mystery.

I’m in no rush to open it. Anticipation is half the pleasure.

Joint Closing — His, Hers & the Good Life

His:   A bottle like this reminds me why we collect — not for the quantity, but for the stories worth savoring.

Hers:   Some bottles are meant to be admired before they’re enjoyed. This one invites both.

The Good Life:   It’s not just about what’s in the glass. It’s about the moments we create around it.

How We Will Enjoy This Whiskey

When we finally open this bottle, it will be with intention. This is a whiskey that deserves a quiet evening, a slow pour, and the kind of conversation that lingers like its rye-spiced finish.

We’ll start by tasting it neat, letting the grain, oak, and orange peel rise from the glass. Then we’ll revisit it with a drop or two of water to coax out the caramel and cashew notes. And because PourMore included the recipe for the Sunset Exchange — a cocktail that sounds as refreshing as it is thoughtful — we’ll absolutely be making it. The combination of fresh citrus, honey syrup, bitters, and this single barrel whiskey feels like a celebration in a glass.

We can already picture it: a warm evening, the Sipping Room lights low, an orange wheel catching the glow, basil adding its aromatic lift. A moment worth waiting for.

And we will wait — just a little longer. Because anticipation, after all, is part of the Good Life.
