Back Story from PourMore
Source: July 2025 PourMore Message
Last year, we got our hands on what we thought were the last remaining bottles of he 2022 'Blend Off' between Team Dixon (led by Dixon Dedman, celebrated Kentucky bourbon blender, creator of Kentucky Owl and 2XO whiskey) and Team Porter (led by Matt Porter, aka ADHD Whiskey, reviewer and content creator with a huge fan-favorite YouTube channel).
The challenge: given the same 5 single barrels, each team must make a signature blend for on-site tasters to rate.
Team Dixon's blend:
60% 5-Year Tennessee Whiskey
18% 5-Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon
18% 5-Year Indiana Bourbon (Finished in Cherry Bounce Barrels)
plus 4% Proofing Water
118.3 Proof
Team Porter's blend:
40% 4-Year North Carolina Wheated Bourbon
30% 5-Year Indiana High-Rye Bourbon
20% 5-Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon
10% 5-Year Indiana Bourbon (Finished in Cherry Bounce Barrels)
116.4 Proof
We sent out bottles to our Whiskey and Bourbon clubs - and we got rave reviews (especially from those who receive from both clubs). These literal one-of-a-kind creations from industry taste makers is a perfect example of what's possible when you start having fun with your whiskey!
When we found these few extra bottles, we reached out to the distiller, Three Chord, to see if we could get our hands on any more - and they said they had also thought they didn't exist except for a few places here and there.
So, for the first time ever, you're going to be able to recreate the whiskey weekend head-to-head experience at home. Online sites had maybe one type of bottle, but rarely both. Because we did the shipment last year, we've got both bottles in a one-time 2-pack.

How We Feel About the Spirit
His, Hers & the Good Life: The Three Chord Whiskey Weekend Showdown at Home
Joint Introduction
We didn’t go hunting for these bottles — they found us. One PourMore email, a little curiosity, and suddenly we were staring at a two‑pack of whiskey history: Team Porter and Team Dixon, the once‑in-a-blue-moon blends from Whiskey Weekend’s legendary 2022 head‑to‑head challenge.
We didn’t know what to expect. We only knew this: these bottles weren’t coming back, and if we wanted to experience the magic people raved about, this was our chance.
So we bought them.
Not because we needed more whiskey — but because we love a good story, and these two bottles practically begged to be part of ours.
His Take (Jeff)
There’s something about a bottle with a backstory that makes me slow down before I even pull the cork. Team Dixon’s blend looks like the kind of pour that’ll sit heavy in the glass — confident, layered, maybe even a little mischievous with that cherry‑bounce finish tucked inside.
Team Porter, though … that one feels like a curveball. A wheated bourbon leading the charge? That’s a blend that wants to surprise you. I can already imagine the side‑by‑side: Dixon bringing the swagger, Porter bringing the charm.
I’m ready for both.
Her Take (Nancy Fae)
These bottles feel like souvenirs from an event we didn’t attend but somehow get to experience anyway. Team Dixon’s blend reads like a warm, deep, story-forward pour — the kind you sip when you want to feel grounded. Team Porter’s blend feels brighter, a little more playful, like it’s going to dance across the palate and make me raise an eyebrow in that “well, hello there” kind of way.
I love that they’re different.
I love even more that we get to discover how they’re different together.
Joint Closing
His Final Word
Two blends. One showdown. I’m ready to pour, compare, and declare my own winner — even if it’s just between us.
Her Final Word
These bottles aren’t just whiskey; they’re an experience waiting to happen. I’m here for the story, the surprise, and the shared moment.
The Good Life
The good life isn’t about picking a winner. It’s about savoring the journey — one pour, one laugh, one shared glass at a time.

How We Will Enjoy the Whiskeys
We’re saving these bottles for a night when we can give them our full attention — no rush, no distractions, just the two of us and the blends that brought Whiskey Weekend home.
We’ll start neat, letting each blend open up and show us who it wants to be. Then we’ll try them with a single cube, watching how the chill softens the edges and reveals new layers. And finally, we’ll do the side‑by‑side comparison — the moment these bottles were made for — talking through every note, every shift, every surprise.
We won’t crown a champion.
We’ll just enjoy the rare chance to taste two visions, two palates, two personalities — all in one unforgettable evening.
