This cocktail is a love letter to crisp afternoons, front porch conversations, and the satisfying snap of orchard-fresh apples. The Apple Porch Shandy layers warm bourbon and apple brandy with the sweet tang of green apple and the cozy spice of cinnamon, all smoothed out by the familiar charm of iced tea. It’s that rare drink that feels both refreshing and nostalgic—a gentle nod to simpler moments, best shared under the rustle of leaves or a string of porch lights.

And when the spirits step aside, the mocktail version with sweet tea still delivers all the charm—without skipping a beat.

How We Feel About the Cocktail

🍎 Enjoying the Apple Porch Shandy

We served the Apple Porch Shandy over ice in a highball glass, letting the golden hue catch the late-afternoon light. It was the kind of cocktail that invites you to slow down and savor — perfect for porch swings, quiet laughter, and the first signs of spring.

Nose

The aroma greeted us with a soft orchard breeze — crisp apple and mellow bourbon rising first, followed by a whisper of brown sugar and cinnamon. A hint of lemon brightened the edges, while the salted caramel added a cozy, dessert-like depth.

Palate

The first sip was smooth and layered:

  • Apple brandy led with warmth and fruit

  • Bourbon added backbone and a touch of spice

  • Sweet tea mellowed the mix, grounding it in Southern comfort

  • Salted caramel and cinnamon syrups wrapped everything in a soft sweetness

  • Lemon juice offered just enough acidity to keep it balanced

It was equal parts refreshing and indulgent — a cocktail that felt both familiar and new.

Finish

The finish lingered with notes of caramel and tea, fading into a gentle apple tartness. A subtle cinnamon warmth stayed behind, like the memory of a good conversation.
