How We Feel About the Spirit

Clase Azul Tequila Plata — A His & Hers Sipping Room Story

When we first started building our Sipping Room collection, we knew—without a shred of hesitation — that a Clase Azul bottle would eventually grace our shelves. Their decanters are unmistakable: tall, sculptural, hand‑painted works of art that command attention even from across a dimly lit room. We already had the Clase Azul Tequila Reposado, and it quickly became one of the visual anchors of our collection. But as much as we dreamed of adding more, patience, budget, and shelf space kept us grounded. Collecting is a marathon, not a sprint… or so we kept reminding ourselves.

Then came Manila.

We were sitting in the high‑end bar inside the Marriott, unwinding after a long day, when something familiar caught our eye. That silhouette — tall, elegant, crowned with its signature bell cap. We didn’t know which expression it was at first, but we knew it was Clase Azul. The bartender noticed our curiosity and brought it over. Clase Azul Tequila Plata. The crystal‑clear tequila inside seemed to glow under the bar lights, like it had its own quiet confidence. It was beautiful. Striking. A little mesmerizing.

Back home in Nashville, every trip to Total Wine became a tiny internal tug‑of‑war. I’d slow down as we passed the Clase Azul Plata, admire it, and then try — try — to talk myself out of buying it. Jeff, ever the encourager of my indulgent tendencies, would say, “Just get it.” And I’d still pretend to be responsible.

But let’s be honest: I’m not great at holding back when it comes to bottles that speak to my soul. Two months. That’s all I lasted. Two months of glancing, pausing, and walking away like someone with willpower … until I finally caved.

The timing was perfect, though. We had just expanded our Sipping Room shelves — thanks to the accidental purchase of the very tall Patrón El Alto, which forced a full redesign. Suddenly, the 750 ml Clase Azul Plata would fit. And once I knew it had a proper home, resistance was futile.

We haven’t opened this particular bottle yet, but we’ve tasted Clase Azul Plata in guided tastings. The nose greets you with soft citrus, fresh herbs, and a clean minerality that feels like a breeze through an agave field at sunrise. The palate is silky and bright — sweet cooked agave, a touch of pepper, and a whisper of vanilla that never tries too hard. The finish is crisp and refreshing, lingering just long enough to remind you why Clase Azul has such a devoted following.

His & Hers Good‑Life Close:

He says it’s the kind of bottle that makes a room feel more sophisticated.

She says it’s the kind of bottle that makes a moment feel more intentional.

Together, we say it’s another chapter in our Sipping Room story — collected slowly, savored fully, and enjoyed in good company.

How This Bottle Should Be Enjoyed

Clase Azul Tequila Plata shines brightest when treated with a little ceremony. Pour it neat into a proper tequila glass—something that lets the aromas open up and gives the spirit room to breathe. Sip slowly. Let the citrus and agave unfold naturally. This is not a tequila to rush or hide behind mixers.

If you want to elevate the experience, pair it with:

  • A clean palate — chilled water, a light snack, or nothing at all

  • Soft lighting — warm, ambient, and unhurried

  • A quiet playlist — something that lets the tequila do the talking

  • Good conversation — or a moment of stillness, whichever the evening calls for

Clase Azul Plata is a bottle meant to be appreciated, not consumed. It’s a reminder that the good life isn’t loud — it’s intentional.
