Our Experience

Isle of Skye Cigar — A His, Hers & The Good Life Moment

Written by Jeff

Joint Introduction

We already had the Isle of Skye 21‑year and 25‑year Scotch bottles waiting for us at home in the Sipping Room — two whiskies we’d been saving for the right night. The cigars came later, discovered in the walk‑in humidor at our favorite Total Wine in Nashville. They were clearly crafted to pair with the Isle of Skye whiskies, and we knew immediately they belonged in a future gathering.

That gathering came as hoped. One evening, our friends Stannon and Rob came over for dinner — easy company, good conversation, and the kind of night that asks for something a little special. After dinner, we stepped out onto the back porch, the air warm and still, the string lights casting that soft glow that makes time slow down. It was the perfect moment to open the 25‑year Scotch and light the cigars.

The scene wrote itself.

His Take (Jeff’s Voice)

The Isle of Skye cigar feels like it was built for nights exactly like that — unhurried, relaxed, and full of good company. It’s not a cigar that tries to dominate the moment. Instead, it settles in quietly, offering a smooth draw, an even burn, and a flavor profile that leans warm and lightly sweet with a touch of toasted oak.

Smoking it with Stannon felt natural, almost ceremonial. The cigar didn’t compete with the whisky; it complemented it. Each sip of the 25‑year Scotch opened the cigar’s sweetness, and each puff softened the whisky’s edges. It was one of those pairings where everything simply works, even if you’re not trying to analyze it.

I remember thinking — not in words, but in feeling — that this was exactly the kind of cigar you want beside a refined Scotch. Balanced. Intentional. Easy to enjoy.

Her Take (Nancy Fae’s Voice)

I didn’t smoke the cigar, but I loved the moment. Watching Jeff and Stannon settle into their chairs, seeing the way the whisky opened up in the glass, and feeling the porch shift into that slow, contented rhythm. It was all part of the experience.

The cigar’s aroma was warm and elegant, not sharp or intrusive. It carried that soft, toasted scent that reminds me of leather chairs, old books, and conversations that stretch long into the night. Rob and I stayed with the whisky, and even without smoking, I could tell the pairing was seamless. The cigar added depth to the moment without overwhelming it.

Sometimes the best part of a cigar is watching the people you love enjoy it.

Pairing with Isle of Skye 25 Year Blended Scotch Whisky

From our tasting notes on the 25‑year Scotch, the pairing was exactly what the cigar promised: harmonious and beautifully balanced.

The whisky’s honeyed warmth, soft fruit, and refined oak met the cigar’s gentle sweetness in a way that felt almost choreographed. The cigar softened the whisky’s heat, while the whisky lifted the cigar’s flavor profile, giving each puff a richer finish.

Jeff and Stannon both reacted the same way — not in exact words, but in the shared expression of two people who know a pairing has landed perfectly.

Joint Closing — His, Hers & The Good Life

His (Jeff’s Voice)

This cigar is built for nights that deserve a little ceremony. It’s not flashy or loud—it’s quietly excellent. The kind of cigar that respects the whisky beside it and elevates the moment around it.

Hers (Nancy Fae’s Voice)

Even without smoking it, I felt its presence. It added warmth, depth, and a sense of occasion. It’s the kind of cigar that fits into our life not because of what it is, but because of what it helps create.

The Good Life

The Isle of Skye cigar belongs in our Good Life because it’s made for shared porch nights, good friends, good whisky, and the kind of memories that linger long after the smoke fades.
