Beignets first. Everything else later.
Beignets first. Everything else later.

New Orleans didn’t just steal our hearts—it stole our sleep, challenged our liver, fed us exceptionally well, and sent us home already planning the next trip. From powdered‑sugar mornings to rum‑soaked nights, here’s how we fully embraced the Big Easy… one cocktail (or five) at a time.

Day 1 – Friday: Touchdown, Cocktails First

We wasted zero time easing into vacation mode. Dinner and drinks at Flamingo A Go Go delivered music, bold cocktails, and the immediate realization that we were exactly where we were meant to be.

Southern Hurricanes, Sazeracs, and a dangerously drinkable Sweet Business flowed alongside a Taste of New Orleans sampler and a crispy Fried Shrimp Po’Boy. Trip officially launched.

First Sazerac of the trip… definitely not the last.

Day 2 – Saturday: Beignets, Supercars & Bourbon Street Chaos

Morning Magic

Breakfast at Café du Monde gave us hot beignets, chicory coffee, and live jazz—powdered sugar everywhere and zero regrets.

Fast & Furious (NOLA Edition)

At Xtreme Xperiences Racetrack, we rode in a Hellcat and drove a Lamborghini and a Ferrari, hitting speeds up to 150 mph. Adrenaline: unlocked.

Zero speed limits. Zero regrets.

Bourbon Street After Dark

Saturday night became a glorious blur:

  • The Alibi Bar

  • Misfit Toys

  • Ticklers French Quarter Piano Bar and My Bar @ 635 (because one bar simply wasn’t enough)

  • Dinner at Trenasse Cajun Cuisine

  • The Dungeon, Fétiche, and The Famous Door

Hurricanes were consumed. Music was danced to. Sleep was optional.

Day 3 – Sunday: Elevated Eats, Cigars & Smooth Jazz

Sunday called for refined flavors and relaxed vibes. We started at The Alibi Bar, then headed to The Vessel, where fried Brussels sprouts, duck wontons, smoked fish dip, and beautifully crafted cocktails kept us lingering longer than planned.

Next stop: High Grace Bar for tropical‑leaning cocktails and great music.

Then we slowed things way down at Crescent City Cigar Shop—cigars in hand, surrounded by smooth jazz, soaking in one of the most effortlessly cool moments of the entire trip.

A well‑earned pause.

The night continued with:

  • Erin Rose (frozen Irish coffee perfection)

  • Old Absinthe House

  • Dinner at Creole House, featuring an oyster flight, blackened redfish, and Cajun Alfredo we’re still thinking about

Day 4 – Monday: Classic New Orleans Elegance

Dinner at Antoine’s felt like stepping into Old‑World glamour. With glasses of Caymus Cabernet and espresso martinis, we indulged in filet mignon, decadent sides, and finished strong with pecan bread pudding and satsuma crème brûlée.

Fancy never tasted so good.

Day 5 – Tuesday: Spirits, Soul & a Little Magic

After breakfast and beignets at Café Beignet, we headed to the Sazerac House for a tropical cocktail tasting in their Char Bar speakeasy—educational, delicious, and very hands‑on.

A tarot and aura reading in Jackson Square followed, pulling eight cards and delivering a reading that was powerful, personal, and unexpectedly inspiring.

The night wrapped up at French 75 Bar and Arnaud’s, with shrimp creole, crab cakes, and oysters in every baked form imaginable.

Day 6 – Wednesday: Brunch Boldly & Sip Slowly

Breakfast at Daisy Duke’s came with Bloody Marys (yes, with a critter garnish) and omelettes loaded with everything—including alligator, because New Orleans.

The rest of the day unfolded as a classy cocktail crawl:

  • The Carousel Lounge

  • The Polo Club

  • Salon Salon, where banana negronis, deviled eggs with caviar, and truffle fries absolutely stole the show

Day 7 – Thursday: Tiki Finale

We returned to the Sazerac House for a full museum and distillery tour (and left with bottles, naturally).

Our grand finale at Beachbum Berry’s Latitude 29 delivered tiki perfection—layered rum cocktails, a pu pu platter, spam fried rice, and toasted coconut sesame cheesecake. The only proper way to end a New Orleans adventure.

Day 8 – One Last Toast

Before heading home, we made a strategic stop at Total Wine, stocking up on whiskey and tequila—souvenirs that will forever taste like this trip.

Final Thoughts

New Orleans doesn’t ask you to take it slow. It invites you to eat boldly, drink creatively, listen closely, and say yes more often than you should.

We left tired, inspired, and already planning our return.

Laissez les bons temps rouler.
