How We Feel About the Spirit
✨ Señor Rio Tequila Extra Añejo — The Bottle That Wouldn’t Let Us Go
Some bottles find you long before you ever bring them home. That’s exactly how our story with Señor Rio Tequila Extra Añejo began — in the tequila aisle at Total Wine in Nashville, with our daughter Ashley by our side and absolutely no intention of buying anything extravagant that day.
We were doing what we always do: drifting toward the locked glass where the rare bottles live, the ones that feel more like art pieces than spirits. And then we saw it.
A bottle shaped like a black genie’s lamp, wrapped in hypnotic white swirls that seemed to move even when they didn’t. It didn’t just sit on the shelf — it commanded the shelf. Jeff, Ashley, and I looked at each other with that silent, shared “oh no… we like this too much” expression.
Before we could talk ourselves out of it, the Total Wine Spirits Manager walked over and said the words that make collectors weak in the knees: “That’s a good bottle — and it’s limited edition.”
Of course it was.
We admired it. We circled it. We checked the price. And then we did the responsible thing… we walked away.
But that bottle stayed with us. All evening. All night. Like a little whisper in the back of our minds: You know you want me.
By the next morning, we both knew the truth — we weren’t done with that bottle. So we drove right back to Total Wine, marched straight to the tequila case, and brought that black‑and‑white beauty home.
Now it sits proudly in our Sipping Room, a piece of sculpture as much as a spirit, waiting patiently for the right moment to be opened. We haven’t tasted this particular bottle yet, but we already know it’s destined for a special occasion — one of those evenings where the lighting is soft, the playlist is slow, and the conversation feels like it could go on forever.
Because some bottles aren’t just bottles. They’re chapters waiting to be written.
👫 His, Hers & the Good Life Closing
His: “I knew the moment we walked away that we’d be back. That bottle had too much presence to ignore.”
Hers: “Some bottles flirt. This one seduced. And honestly? I’m not mad about it.”
Good Life: In the end, the good life isn’t about impulse buys or rare finds — it’s about listening to the little sparks that make you smile, the moments you choose to savor, and the stories you bring home with you. This bottle is one of ours.

🌟 How This Bottle Should Be Enjoyed
When the day finally comes to open our Señor Rio Extra Añejo, it deserves a moment worthy of its elegance.
Set the mood: low lighting, soft music, and no rush.
Use a proper glass: a Glencairn or a narrow-rimmed tasting glass to let the aromas rise slowly.
Start neat: let the oak, agave, and time reveal themselves without distraction.
Sip slowly: Extra Añejo is a conversation, not a shot.
Share the moment: this is a bottle meant to be opened with intention — a milestone, a celebration, or a night that already feels special.
And when the glasses are empty, the bottle itself becomes part of the room — a piece of art that reminds us of the day it insisted on coming home.
