This year has felt like a treasure hunt for all things celebrating our country’s 250th anniversary. Everywhere we turn, there’s another commemorative product dressed in red, white, and blue — some charming, some over‑the‑top, and some that make us pause before adding them to our growing “250” collection. We’ve tried to be selective, but when we saw the Grey Goose bottle sculpted in full goose form, proudly wearing its patriotic regalia, we were tickled. Resistance was futile. And once we saw how adorable it looked in person — especially in the photos we took in the Sipping Room — we knew it had earned its place in the celebration.

About the Bottle
When I started researching where to buy it, Walmart had it listed for $25.99. Reasonable. Cute. Festive. I checked in with Jeff, and he agreed — no hesitation. In the cart it went.
It arrived yesterday, just in time for the 4th of July. At 8 inches tall, 7 inches long, and 3 inches wide, it was smaller than we expected, but undeniably adorable. The moment I unboxed it, I carried it straight to the Sipping Room and set it beside our Grey Goose bottles for a little patriotic photo shoot. Seeing the sculpted goose next to the classic frosted bottles made the whole thing even more charming — like a tiny, spirited mascot joining the lineup.
Then came the moment of realization. The box said Grey Goose France, complete with a small blue, white, and red banner in the logo. Somehow, in all our patriotic excitement, I forgot that Grey Goose is French — not American — yet here it was, celebrating our country’s 250th anniversary. I felt a little silly, especially after photographing it so proudly among our USA memorabilia.
And then another curiosity: when I went back to Walmart’s site to reread the product details, the page had vanished. Gone. No trace. I couldn’t find a similar version anywhere else online. Cue my conspiracy theories. Did we buy something unofficial? Unauthorized? A rogue goose?
Eventually, I forced myself to stop spiraling. Jeff thinks it’s still cute and patriotic. I agree. Peculiar or not, it’s joining our Sipping Room display alongside our other USA treasures — quirks, mystery, and all.
