About This Spirit from the Maker
A whiskey without rival, aged over a quarter century and finished in Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon barrels.
The crowning glory in our collection of super-aged N. American Single Malt, matured more than twice as long as any other on the continent. Hijacked by the hands of fate and fortune, to whisper wisdom collected over a quarter century, while simultaneously it shouts: "Stand aside, adversaries of old!"
To round out the mouthwatering character of The Badönkådonk, complete our grail quest, and best the Scots, WhistlePig joined forces with an ally in American Oak and fellow ringleader of the new wine and whiskey world order. Barrels from Silver Oak’s Alexander Valley Cabernet barrels lend notes of stone fruits, cedar wood, and transcendental tastiness. Take our word for it, or ask John Cleese.

By the time whispers of WhistlePig’s 25 Year Badönkådonk reached us, our collection was already well on its way. We had gathered many of the distillery’s standout expressions, each one adding its own personality to our shelves. Naturally, the idea of a 25‑year single malt from WhistlePig — playful name and all — became an instant must‑have.
We tried to order it directly from WhistlePig, only to learn they couldn’t ship to our state. From that moment on, every spirits shop visit became a mini‑quest. We’d peek behind counters, scan top shelves, and ask the hopeful question: “Any special WhistlePig bottles today?” Most stores didn’t even have the 21 Year, let alone the elusive 25.
The Bottle Hiding in Plain Sight
Then came the day that changed everything — and in the most unexpected way.
I was at our local ABC store, not expecting much, when I casually asked the cashier if they had any special WhistlePig bottles. He pointed to a box set of three 375 ml bottles, which I grabbed immediately. Then, almost as an afterthought, he added, “And we have the 25 year here.”
